Hi there fellow word lovers! Welcome to my blog, NataliaWrites! I’m so glad to have you here. This is where I share anything and everything about the written word.
Before we dive into all the literary goodness, let me introduce myself. My name is Natalia Ndatotolola (Lola) Kavale. I live in Walvis Bay, a small city on the coast of Namibia, where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Sea. I am a writer, a certified editor, and a proofreader.
My journey with the written word began at 17 years old when I moved to a new school in the 11th grade. There, my new English teacher advised me to get into reading novels to improve my English (I am not a native English speaker). To my amazement, the new school’s library was much bigger than my former school’s, so there were a gazillion novels at my disposal.
My love (or obsession) for books began with a John Grisham novel called The Client. Unsurprisingly, John Grisham became one of my favourite authors. I didn’t start writing until 10 years later when I joined OnlineBookClub’s book reviewer forum at the beginning of 2018.
Since then, my passion for literature has only grown. Now, I read for a living, as a freelance proofreader and copyeditor. I hold an honours degree in English Studies and Music from the University of Namibia and have completed professional editing training with the College of Media and Publishing.
